Abstract An important exotic yielding essential oil from the fruit husk and seed. The seed contains 17-18% by weight of the oil and a paper chromatographic analysis showed it to contain glycerides of myristic, palmitic, stearic, oleic and linoleic acids. Various physico-chemical characteristics are tabulated. The oil is suitable for use in the soap industry.
