Exploring Phylogenetic Relationships between Hundreds of Plant Fatty Acids Synthesized by Thousands of Plants. more details ...
Abstract Oil contents and fatty acids of seed oil for 18 Perilla accessions from Sichuan and Guangdong Province of China,Japan and America were measured. The correlation relationships among the contents of oil fatty acids were analyzed. Results: The seed oil contents of Perilla accessions range from 16.33% to 35.28%.The seed oils contain linolenic acid(70.94%~78.86%),linoleic acid(9.70%~14.57%),oleic acid(0.68%~2.20%),palmitic acid(6.69%~11.03%) and stearic acid(2.23%~3.76%).Of them,P 06-37 from Japan is the excellent in general characters.A negative correlation coefficient is significant at 0.01 level between the linolenic acid and linoleic acid contents.A positive correlation coefficient is significant at 0.01 level between oleic acid and palmitic acid contents.Accession P.frutescens(L.) Britton var.frutescens(baisu) has comparatively higher oil content and linolenic acid content, but there is no significant difference for the other fatty acid contents among the Perilla L.accessions.
